By using the services available at this site users agree to comply with the following terms and conditions.

The content made available to users is copyright protected, and the original copyright owner retains the ownership of the content. Users shall abide by all copyright notices which are either included on this site or which accompany material obtained via this site.

Copies of journal articles and other extracts from published works are made available via this site under licence from the Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA). This stipulates that the copies supplied shall be printed out by the user only once, and not recopied or electronically stored or distributed, unless permitted by a CLA licence granted to that organisation or authorised by the copyright owner. The CLA has the right to take legal action directly against any customer organisation to enforce this stipulation.

Copyright in the abstracts, Idox bulletins and newsletters, and in The Knowledge Exchange database itself are copyright of Idox plc.

Where this site includes links to other web sites the linked sites are not under the control of Idox and Idox is not responsible for the contents of any linked site nor can the fact that Idox has given you this listing serve as an endorsement by Idox of any of these sites.

Eligible employees may self-register for a username and password to enable personal searching of The Knowledge Exchange database on the internet. It is the responsibility of the customer organisation to ensure that passwords and usernames are not passed on or divulged to any non-eligible users. It is also the responsibility of the customer organisation to ensure that eligible employees do not request information searches or carry out personal searches of our database on behalf of non-eligible users. For the avoidance of doubt, eligible employees are employees belonging to the department or organisation which has purchased the service.

The Knowledge Exchange provides its services under a fair use policy. If the use made of the service, in terms of document supply and research enquiries, exceeds that anticipated in the contract between Idox and the customer organisation, then Idox reserves the right either to place restrictions on the level of access permitted to its services, or to renegotiate the fees charged to the customer organisation.

When you supply any personal information to Idox we have legal obligations towards you in the way we deal with that data. Any information you provide to Idox will only be used within Idox and by its service providers. It will never be supplied to anyone outside Idox without first obtaining your consent, unless we are obliged by law to disclose it. We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you use the service you have requested, and remove it in the event that the purpose has been met. We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
